are you ready to groove? {14/25}
partnered with Groover // artists, albums and tracks you should give a spin
Howdy! ⭐️ Bonnie here - welcome to “are you ready to groove?”, a music outlet where I’m sharing the best tracks I’ve been sent to via Groover.
Billy Proulx - How Low
There's a liveness in this track; the tambourine in the background, the folk guitar riffs, the storytelling lyrics, making it sound like a live performance. He’s opened for B.B. King at the Universal Amphitheater and Johnny Winter at B.B. Kings in Los Angeles.
Malou Lovis - A Piece Of Me
Just released their debut album “things I wrote down last night”, the song “A Piece Of Me” talks about always having been an overachiever and perfectionist and trying to break free from those labels.
Paul Givant - Tidal Wave
Need a new track to listen to whlle driving that’s a good sountrack to reflect on one’s feelings and memories? “Tidal Wave” is absolutely for you.
Chloe Clouds - Iris
An acoustic spin on The Go Go Dolls “Iris”, Chloe Clouds has the ability to make our songs almost sound like her own thing through her performance.
Eric Golub - Viola Freestyle (for G)
You can clearly heart the buzz Golub has for versatile genres spanning pop, rock, jazz, and world musics. So many influences and crossovers audible in this mainly pop folk track with Golub’s jazz violin improv added to everything.
Via email, Eric Golub wrote me details about how the song was recorded:
“My track "Viola Freestyle (for G)" was an entirely live (1st take) improvisation over pre-recorded backing tracks. The backing tracks were intended for Greg Fernandez Jr's record but Greg authorized me to use the completed track as you hear it, as my own release. Greg Fernandez Jr. is the voice you hear at the end, "(laughing) that's amazing!". It was Greg’s session, and having completed it early, Greg and his engineer said, 'want to take another freestyle yourself?' and so I did. And Rusty’s Lament was the result.”
Max Ceddo - Dreaming Under the Hammer
This track on getting one’s motivation together to keep going and to keep pursuing one’s dreams. This song might help you to stay on track. Ceddo’s upcoming debut album “Excelsior Boulevard” is coming out April 18th.
Sadie Jean - Nice Knowing You
This is a breakup song that plays on the seemingly harmless phrase "Nice knowing you" we keep saying to each other. Iit's showing the bittersweet side of love and that's audible in the music.
Gioele Mané - ... E lei non va via
Retreating back to 1960s folk movements, this song would’ve slapped back then. We’re having unfortunately still troubles in the world at the moment, so this song hits thoughts and feelings and is important to be listened to.
Wattmore - Circus Life
Sampling actual Circus sounds you hear in the middle of the track mixing those together with witty lyrics, Wattmore uses the circus as a metaphor to describe how it feels to chase a dream and hit obstacles in the way is brilliant in my eyes.
