are you ready to groove? {17/25}
partnered with Groover // artists, albums and tracks you should give a spin
Howdy! ⭐️ Bonnie here - welcome to “are you ready to groove?”, a music outlet where I’m sharing the best tracks I’ve been sent to via Groover.
Amanda Bjorn - Molly
Amanda Bjorn’s upcoming album "That Kind of Woman" is out in July - “Molly”, the 3rd single, is capsulating Bjorn’s grief and heartbreak. Born inside Sam Evian’s songwriting workshop, Bjorn describes the process of loss of life and the art of surrender.
Malou Lovis - Heart Runs Riot
There's a real emotion in Lovis' voice, the lyrics hit in the right spots. Lovis has been described as such too: “a voice that conveys emotions incredibly well and a likeable, down-to-earth manner that immediately makes you fall in love with her.”
A bittersweet indie pop song about open relationships and the force of unexpected jealousy. Between progressive ideal and emotional chaos, Malou Lovis wrestles with her own heart. The song is part of Malou Lovis' debut album “things i wrote down last night.
Carnival Kid - Feind
Sounding like straight out of an 80s New Wave film surrounding the story of someone being involved in a crime by accident, trying to figure their way out of it. Carnival Kid is already working on a new album, we can’t wait!
Basavriuk - Catacomb
This song is so raw and emotional. The guitars with the synth that harmonies in a peaceful way is just beautiful together. There's so much feeling in this one, Basavriuk calls this one “the most stripped down and vulnerable side to Basavriuk yet”.
This song is a first for me where the guitars and vocals were written simultaneously one day while rehearsing. The choice to keep the song minimal felt right in capturing the calmness and the sense of vulnerability that I had in mind.

B.Thomas - The Older I get
As an Alan Jackson fan, this cover does justice to the beautiful track. B.Thomas also just recently released an album with original tracks after years of playing in other bands.
Another single is out ! A cover version from Alan Jackson.
Just a great song I had to record. This song describes one of the certain facts in life, we`re all getting older, and it describes very well that you should be happy about the life you have, had and still have. Even if you ever find the fountain of youth, don`t drink a drop of it, but take care of what you have and those around you, while you can. Also check out my new Album "Now It`s Time To Tell My Story".

Odd Roar - One Hell Of A Woman
This one has different stories and sides to it. Odd Roar “wrote the song as a goodbye to a wonderful woman that I shared paths with a few years back, but the lyrics are about an old man praising his wife and life companion as she faces her final days.”
I wrote the song as a goodbye to a wonderful woman I crossed paths with ever so briefly a few years back. She is also the young woman from the pictures in the YouTube video. We are still on good terms and talk now and then. She has, of course, given her approval for pics of her to be used.
The other pictures more in line with the seasoned couple from the lyrics are of my grandparents. They have long since passed, but I kind of liked to put them in this song like this. Especially in the last chorus, as the lyrics go, "And I'm one hell of a man, thank you," my grandfather's picture appears. I really wish I was able to recognize what an honest and just man he was while he was still around, but I was in my mid-teens and did not understand the importance then. As a grown-up, I really look up to what he was and how he respected everybody regardless of their position and rank. Honest to a degree where it could feel brutal at times, but true to his word and to anyone's face. So, as he appears as mentioned in the last chorus together with the lines "one hell of a man, thank you," it's a little praise to him as well for the reasons I just mentioned.

Ken Okada Group ft. YOYOKA - Nine Gates
YOYOKA is the coolest - as an avid follower of drummers' journeys and inspirations, YOYOKA with her 15 years is such a talent. Ken Okada Group features her on this track and is touring in August in Bulgaria.
Sergey Khomenko - Ukrainian Kolyskova
The word “Kolyskova" means lullaby in Ukrainian. This is definitely the kind of cinematic lullaby. Khomenko has a real hand for big compositions.
Nick Watson - Going to the Country
Recorded on a vintage 4 track tape recorder for a warm, vintage, folks feel to it, “Going to the Country” has a real flair to it. Moving lyrics with Watson’s vocals and guitar make this a good comfortable listen.
