This week’s music releases have truly just been flooding in my inbox. Many of my favorite artists knocked on my door with songs that let me float up the skies of a promising Spring. One surprise was definitely hearing a cover of Johnny Cash’s Ring of Fire by the butter-sweet vocal Lykke Li. Then everyone talked about 360_brat and Charli XCX's Von dutch that makes one’s body swing and drive raves mad on the dance floor. Lasty, Kai Bosch’s Funny led to me eventually asking to come onto a call. Our interview is coming out on Sunday, March 3.
Been changing up things in this week’s blog structure and reviewed five of my favorites below. Spanning from Dafna to Ganges. Enjoy :)
#1: Dafna - ENOUGH OF ME
Dafna’s ENOUGH OF ME shows once again how it feels like she brews diary entries into two-minute-long songs that keep playing on repeat through my headphones on release day. Her wit and poetic honesty always cools and spreads warmth into some delusional daydreams of mine. At the end of the day, the yearning for love will always stay our best friend’s sister.
maybe i’m just another bandaid for your broken bones. i’m just another version of your ex-girl - you’ve had enough of me. you don’t want me anymore.
1:38 definitely took me off guard while my first listen in the shower. the noisy aggression of synths, the screamed lyrics and the loud drums take one in those pits of despair - the ones who eats us up once we awoken alone another day of the week.
#2: Coco - Any Other Way
Coco have released their awaited masterpiece of sophomore album 2. Mythological Man has been on repeat on this office’s bedroom since its release and our review on it. The most outstanding track right now is the opening track Any Other Way - the shredding soundscape with some rewinded reverb unquestionably preps the listener for the new era of the 1960’s French-esque dream pop band.
PS: Close your eyes and listen to the almost-soft sounding saxophone by Logan Hone on Wheel!
Below is linked Coco’s Bandcamp for you to get yourself the vinyl :)
#3: Celia - Made your bed
one of the most devastating lyrics released this week was Celia’s Made your bed. The mentioned bed in the title represents how I covered my body with the warm sheets once again while first listening to the touching song. little tears running over my cheeks and Celia’s voice there making me sob and comforting me at the same time.
i never wanted to marry a man who saw me as an option. you slow-dancing and you drive all night on a road with no end in sight. i said forever. you said i don’t know / if i waited / i would’ve died alone.
#4: Vulmon, Jacob Jeffries & Harrison Whitford - Little Thunder
Last week I listened and thought a lot of the Traveling Wilburys. This week the trio of Vulfmon, Jacob Jeffries and Harrison Whitford brought back the classic-rock influenced desert-esque sound of a powergroup.
#5: Kyle Stockman - sweet
A more 1980’s Clash or Replacements vibe to the table brought Kyle Stockman with his new single sweet. with a warm present electric guitar makes the song bop one’s head and believe to be a star of a indie movies from the last two previous decades. Personally, I can’t wait to hear more from alt-indie Kyle Stockman’s “shelf of secrets” ;) he can found on Instagram as @kylestockman.wav

just an idea: i’d love to do giveaways → supporting the artists I’m spotlighting & also making their listeners happy. i personally don’t have the funds for this, but would you be interested in donating small amounts and spreading the word? comment below if that idea sounds appealing to you!
