Last week’s music been an absolute pleasure to collect, select and write about. There is a massive wave of new and upcoming musicians that just makes me really happy to see their spotlight shining. I wanna thank again everyone who’s sharing my words and liking my reels. The feedback I receive from doing these features every single Monday is making speechless every time. Thank you! We’re also fast-progressing into Christmas Season, speaking of which …

Also UPSAHL released a double single with original Christmas songs Snowglobe and Pick Up Where We Left Off. Another pleasant surprise was Lunar Vacation’s Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) - a new edition to their A Living Room Christmas. 🎄 ✨

Good Ol Days by Goldie Boutilier
The first time I heard this track, my heart screamed in Pretty Tennessee poems (pre-order my poetry collection) and I went downstairs to groove out to this banger. Then the next day I put it on repeat while driving around and posted it as the “groovy cowgirl anthem” and it truly is. Goldie Boutilier’s been known in my soul for writing the perfect songs I can bop along with my cowboy hat, but truly this song is a baddie who makes me feel absolutely glamorous strutting down the street of my tiny suburban village in my silver-shining cowgirl boots. Congrats on your EP release, Goldie!
they sold us freedom to take it away / now california’s up in flames / and we’re still driving cars / not every cage has bars
Read the Room by BEL
Feeling very honoured to have witnessed the second EP release of BEL in my life. She’s been an artist I enjoyed seeing grow and share her art with the big world of the Internet. Read the Room is the title track of that said EP and it’s the perfect song to listen to while returning from a weird party one ended up just overthinking on the edge of the couch or from a family dinner where one started to stay still after some sentences.
i feel obligated to lie / … / it’s kinda fun to never talk about a real thing / trying to find the time to be sincere / i guess no one really wants that stuff here
4th of July by Mia Joy
This was the first track that I added to this week’s playlist and it felt magical. A song that makes you drift off future ideas and dreams and nostalgic home video Dad filmed vibes at the same time. Also what for a lyrical masterpiece. Mia Joy’s been a great favorite artist to listen to while driving, especially at night when it feels like you’re the only one existing in this weird dark universe. Definitely feel lucky to have been gifted four new songs this week by this legend!
time is a teacher / so teach me how to love / without the fear of its cost
Under Control by Oracle Sisters
As I already mentioned in Week 43’s edition of this blog series, I anticipated the release of Oracle Sisters’ The Strokes cover of Under Control. It’s giving slow-dancing Italian-movie-runaway vibes and I’m all here for it. If the movies would still produce rom-coms like Only You (1994), I can totally see this being used for the key scene. Where are my screenwriters in the world - Let’s make it happen! also absolutely can’t wait to see Oracle Sisters in London in a few weeks 🤠✨
we worked hard, darling / we don't have no control / we're under control
Missed the Mark by After Ours
I just discovered Daisy by After Ours a few days prior them releasing their self-titled debut album. There are a few moments in life where that happens and it’s an absolute pleasure to then have an entire fresh album playing in your headphones wherever you step for that next month of one’s life. Missed the Mark speaks a lot on regret and longing for different paths one would’ve directed their feelings towards. What for a song to blast the moment you arrive in a town one once laid on someone’s shoulders?
and now i think of you every day / all the things i would do / just to change my ways / i missed the mark, wouldn’t you say?
